KETURAH COLLINGS

(1862-1948)

Keturah Ann Collings was born Keturah Anne Beedle in 1862 in Weston-super-Mare to upholsterer William Henry Beedle (c. 1831-1907) and Eliza Williams (1833-1903). Keturah established her own photographic studio at 16 North Audley Street in West London in 1905, which was popular amongst many European Royal families. A number of her portraits of such family members were issued as picture postcards in Germany by Gustav Liersch (1865-1945) before the First World War. She also made a living as a portrait painter during the war, undertaking small watercolour portraits of military officers.
